2770 Gunter Park Drive East Montgomery, AL 36109

Parking is available at the Lagoon Park Trail south parking lot at the corner of Gunter Park Drive East and Lagoon Park Dr. Additional parking is available at Pete Peterson lodge.

The Lagoon Park Trail is located adjacent to Lagoon Park, a large regional park located in northeast Montgomery, Alabama. The trail covers 176 acres and offers miles of natural surface single-track and double-track paths for bicycling and walking, running, bird watching, and photography.  Meandering through hardwood forest and pine flats, over meadows, along a creek and around a scenic lagoon, you can get an up-close glimpse of wildlife, wading birds, and water fowl.

History of the Lagoon Park Trail

In 2011, a group of local business people and interested citizens saw an opportunity to enhance an underutilized area between two parks and adjacent the city golf course. Today, the Friends of the Lagoon Park Trail is working to assist the city in the development of the trail. Through the partnership with the city, a grant from ADECA, and with the support of wonderful volunteers, the trail has become a beautiful reality.
